Main recommended usesIn the kitchenTo clean fruit and vegetables: Add 1 tablespoon (25 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate for every liter of water and immerse the fruit and vegetables. Alternatively, rub them with a paste made of water and Solvay Bicarbonate. Rinse under running water. Solvay Bicarbonate does not have a disinfectant action.To promote leavening: Add 1 teaspoon (5 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to the dough of cakes and pastries, or dissolve it in milk for every half kilo of flour. Solvay Bicarbonate aids the leavening process, but does not replace yeast.To eliminate odors in the refrigerator and freezer: Place an open container with about 1/2 cup (150 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate in the refrigerator and/or freezer compartment. Replace the product every three months.To deodorize and sanitize the dishwasher: Sprinkle a handful of Solvay Bicarbonate on the dishes or on the bottom of the dishwasher to eliminate unpleasant odors that form between washes. 1/2 cup (150 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate, added once a month during the empty rinse cycle, keeps the appliance efficient.In the washing machine:To enhance liquid detergent: Add 1 tablespoon (25 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate to the detergent drawer during the wash and/or pre-wash cycles. This will increase the cleaning effectiveness of the liquid detergent.To remove unpleasant odors: Add 1 tablespoon (25 g) of Solvay Bicarbonate during the rinse cycle. Ideal for neutralizing persistent and difficult-to-eliminate odors. Solvay Bicarbonate counteracts limescale buildup. Do not use on wool or silk. At home: To deodorize and brighten the colors of carpets and rugs: Sprinkle Solvay Bicarbonate evenly over the surface to be cleaned. Leave to act for up to 24 hours, then vacuum or vacuum. To eliminate any source of bad odors: Sprinkle a layer of Solvay Bicarbonate on the bottom of the cat litter box before pouring the litter in.
